StormTree brings unique floodwater management product to UK

From the 15th September to the 22nd September, the owner of StormTree will be in the UK to offer a unique product to municipal designers, engineers and planning consultants. The company designs and installs tree filters and customisable catch basin systems to improve landscape and rainwater run-off, supporting key architectural projects across the USA.

Due to the developing nature of the product, StormTree is aiming to connect with planning consultants or engineers who advise on UK drainage systems, landscaping and planting policies.

An alternative to traditional solutions that do not deliver the benefits to tree health, pollutant removal and storm water management capabilities, the StormTree product is constantly evolving and can be tailored for different uses and geographies.

Designed to provide a useful, visually appealing, and eco-friendly storm water management system, the StormTree not only collects and treats water run-off, it also provides irrigation for surrounding plants and offers a drastically smaller concrete footprint compared with traditional catch basins.

The smaller concrete footprint means the StormTree saves money and space, both essential to the crowded urban developments facing the UK’s construction industry.

StormTree is now planning to develop its existing product range to specifically meet the needs of the UK residential, commercial, and municipal engineering and property development sectors. With limited land resource and high levels of seasonal rainfall, the UK poses a unique challenge and an opportunity for the flexible StormTree design to complement existing drainage solutions. After recent flooding disasters and rising urban development, drainage and flash flood management solutions are fast becoming crucial to the UK construction industry.
