Offshore Wind Supply Chain Mission

In the summer of 2019, GBM were retained by the State of Rhode Island to help deliver a programme of UK activity profiling the US state’s key business representatives within key sectors including in particular the growing offshore wind (OSW) sector.

During a four day visit, we managed liaison with key inward investment targets in Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester and Hull, where the delegation hosted an offshore wind supply chain conference with over 100 of Humberside’s OSW sector businesses, and arranged speaking opportunities at international trade events, as well as facilitating senior local and national Govt meetings.

Within months of the visit several UK companies had announced multi-million dollar US expansion projects creating dozens of new jobs on both sides of the Atlantic.
