Event, Lead Generation and Digital Export Portal Project

GBM and Appeal won a competitive tender for Leeds City Region LEP and DIT in the Yorkshire and Humber region in 2019 to deliver a 2.5 year export profile programme that operated across the Yorkshire and Humber Region. Primary objectives were to utilise online media and events to raise awareness of exporting support, and recruit board level ‘patrons’, to deliver and populate a programme of export related events to generate export support interactions for both organisations.

We used a blend of social media promotion, media coverage and organic content to promote export related events for over three years. Our novel use of paid LinkedIn and media delivered over 490 attendees at events, and our web portal remains the top performing web presence for exporters from the region.

We were able to meet and exceed all key KPIs including:
• 140-guest live ‘TV Show’ format launch with guests including Marian Sudbury OBE, Roger Marsh OBE and directors from over 80 businesses
• Recruitment of 71 Board Director level Patrons
• 13 in-person events with 490 attendees
• 200+ media articles, 13,000 visits to web portal
• 150 new SME exporter leads
